Two foreign banks, HSBC and UBS, have closed their Lagos offices and have ceased operating in Nigeria. According to the Central bank of Nigeria, foreign direct investment in Nigeria fell to 379 point 84 billion naira ($1 point 2 billion) in the first half of the year from 532 point 63 billion naira ($1.7 billion) a year earlier.
The deadline has passed and 79 candidates have submitted their names to stand for the Nigerian Presidency.
